President Donald Trump announced Wednesday several deals made during his visit to Qatar, including at least $1.2 trillion in economic exchange and an economic deal amounting to over $243.5 billion. The deals align with the Trump administration’s goal of ushering in a new Golden Age of American manufacturing.
According to the White House, one key agreement involves Qatar Airways purchasing U.S.-made aircraft and aviation engines. The Qatari flag carrier has placed a $96 billion contract with Boeing to deliver up to 210 787 Dreamliners and GE Aerospace engine-powered 777X aircraft, supporting up to 154,000 U.S. manufacturing jobs annually.
The package is also expected to propel the Middle Eastern nation’s defense capabilities while supporting the U.S. manufacturing sector. For military-related deals, RTX business Raytheon is set to supply Qatar with the Fixed Site – Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aerial System Integrated Defeat System counter-drone solution under a $1 billion agreement.
Doha is part of Trump’s Middle East tour. The White House recently announced a $600 billion commitment from Saudi Arabia to invest in or procure solutions and services from U.S. companies, which includes DataVolt constructing data centers in the United States.
