British multinational Serco has secured three contracts with a total value of over $1.3 billion from the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence to deliver critical services in support of the Royal Navy, continuing over three decades of collaboration that ensures the service meets its unique maritime requirements.

The Potomac Officers Club is hosting the 2025 Navy Summit, where maritime and naval leaders will gather to discuss opportunities and challenges facing the service in light of emerging technologies and the current political climate. Secure your spot now.

The combined deal comprises:

  • more than 10 years of in-port services for His Majesty’s Naval Base Devonport in Plymouth, HMNB Portsmouth and HMNB Faslane,
  • over five years of in-shore military training and exercises support at the British Underwater Test and Evaluation, and
  • 10 years of offshore support to military training and exercises, including providing two specialist ocean-going vessels.

Serco Group CEO Anthony Kirby described the latest awards as a reflection of the company’s commitment to supporting the Royal Navy and its growing leadership in the defense sector.

“We have been performing these duties to an extremely high standard for the last 28 years, and we now have the opportunity to modernize the fleet of support vessels to ensure that the Navy has the support it requires, day in, day out, to enable it to keep our waters safe,” he said.

The new contract awards follow a deal sealed with the MoD in February to develop a comprehensive enlistment system for the armed forces.
