Rheinmetall’s electronics subsidiary will collaborate with Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency to seek digitization opportunities that will improve training capabilities for the Singapore Armed Forces. The company said the advanced technologies to be explored under the partnership include artificial intelligence, cloud and extended reality.
The collaboration will combine the two entities’ capabilities to pursue advanced simulation technologies to improve realism in the SAF’s training activities. “In doing so, we hope to harness the transformative potential of these technologies to enhance training for the Singapore Armed Forces,” said Yeoh Ee-Wen, DSTA director of simulation and training systems.
According to Tim Krabbes, head of sales for Rheinmetall’s Integrated Electronic Systems business unit, the collaboration is not only about technology sharing but also “fostering a culture of innovation, agility and, more importantly, trust.”
“Rheinmetall and DSTA bring together deep expertise, technological excellence and a shared vision of leveraging digital transformation to push the boundaries of simulation and next-generation solutions,” he said.
Bremen-based Rheinmetall Electronics is a global provider of advanced electronics and digital network platforms in the armed forces’ four operational domains. DSTA’s organization includes engineers and IT specialists using multidisciplinary expertise, including cyber and software development, to provide Singapore’s soldiers with advanced systems for national defense.
The Rheinmetall-DSTA collaboration was unveiled on the sidelines of IMDEX Asia 2025, a three-day naval defense event held in Singapore this week.
