Nico Gaviola and Daniel Holz have joined data and artificial intelligence company Databricks‘ Europe, Middle East and Africa senior leadership team to expand the Data Intelligence Platform’s user base in the region.
Gaviola will become the company’s vice president of emerging enterprise and digital natives. He most recently served as Google’s data analytics and AI sales director for EMEA South. He was also a client director at Brightcove and a business development manager at BeBanjo and Flumotion.
“I’m thrilled to join Databricks at such a pivotal time for AI adoption amongst emerging enterprises and digital natives … There are so many exciting startups emerging in EMEA, and these innovative, cloud-native businesses have a real opportunity to leverage gen AI in a fast, secure and governed manner,” Gaviola said.
Meanwhile, Holz will oversee a cloud technology division as senior vice president of Northeast Europe, leading a team driving local adoption of the platform, strengthening local partnerships and growing the Central Europe team that caters to markets such as Germany and Switzerland. He previously worked at Oracle, Google and SAP.
The company’s Data Intelligence Platform helps users better understand enterprise data by providing semantic cataloging and discovery and automated management and optimization capabilities.
Samuel Bonamigo, senior vice president and general manager for EMEA, said Gaviola and Holz’s experiences allow Databricks customers to gain the platform’s advantages. “Democratizing data and AI across an organization with an open, scalable data intelligence platform is how EMEA enterprises — whatever their size and location — will succeed in today’s market,” he added.
