Cybersecurity and cloud computing company Akamai Technologies has partnered with P3M Works, a cyber resilience and transformation consultancy based in the United Kingdom, to offer zero trust identity, credential and access management solutions to British government and defense customers.
Martin Hellmer, vice president of strategic alliances at Akamai, said that after two decades of delivering mission-critical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and federal government, the partnership with P3M will allow the British government to gain the same advantage. “The increasing sophistication of cyber threats and the expansion of supply chain attack vectors demand a zero trust approach that continuously validates every access request, regardless of source or destination,” he added.
Under the collaboration, Akamai will work closely with P3M to deepen its understanding of U.K. government requirements while marketing the Akamai Zero Trust Federated ICAM solutions to organizations needing robust supply chain security frameworks. Already used by the U.S. Army, the solutions offer British agencies a tool for secure collaboration with vendors, contractors and allies. The company said the products maintain a high level of security by ensuring that no underlying networks are exposed and that the attack surface remains limited.
In addition to delivering zero-trust tools, the partnership offers federated third-party management for third-party collaboration, comprehensive third-party activity auditing and monitoring, and continuous authentication and authorization.
P3M founder Jack Marley said his company’s relationship with the U.K. government and national security agencies and Akamai’s proven ICAM line will help address a critical gap in the nation’s defense supply chain.
