L3Harris to Supply Netherlands With Advanced Radios

L3Harris Technologies has secured a contract from the Dutch Ministry of Defence to deliver advanced Falcon IV radios for its FOXTROT program. The deal, a Foreign Military Sales transaction with a maximum value of $1.1 billion, is part of Amsterdam’s efforts to improve interoperability with partners and allies worldwide. It gained U.S. government approval in October 2024.

Samir Mehta, president of L3Harris’ Communication Systems unit, highlighted the benefits of the Falcon IV to the modern battlefield. “These resilient devices will enable enhanced capability to strengthen homeland defenses, deter regional conflicts and provide direct support to coalition and security cooperation efforts,” he said.

The Falcon IV portfolio is a line of radios integrating multiple functions into a single platform. The device offers real-time voice, data, full-motion high-definition video, and crossbanding for secure military communication. Quick connection to other units accelerates decision-making and ensures reliable connectivity even in remote locations.

In addition to delivering the radios, L3Harris’ Netherlands B.V. has pledged to support the development of the nation’s defense industry by nurturing partnerships with European companies, investing in in-country technical maintenance and support facilities, and empowering and hiring local talent.
