Laser communications provider Mynaric has appointed Peter Müller-Brühl as chair of its supervisory board, effective April 24. He replaces Bulent Altan, who stepped down from the role and left the board earlier this month.

Müller-Brühl has served on the board since July 2018 and previously held the position of vice chair. “As the company undergoes substantial transformation, I am confident in our collective ability to ensure strong governance and build a resilient, forward-looking organization,” the executive said. “I look forward to continuing our close collaboration within the board and with the leadership team as we support Mynaric’s next chapter.”

In addition to his role at Mynaric, Müller-Brühl is the chief operating officer and executive board member of GreenCom Networks. He brings a decade of experience as a serial entrepreneur across various technology startups, where he has served as co-founder, angel investor and part of executive leadership. Before entering the tech startup space, he held senior corporate roles, including as chief information and technology officer at DaimlerChrysler, and management positions in the publishing and automotive sectors.

Elected alongside Müller-Brühl is Manfred Krischke as vice chair of the supervisory board. Müller-Brühl and Krischke join Margaret Abernathy and Arndt Rautenberg as current supervisory board members.

Founded in 2009, Munich-based Mynaric develops laser communication terminals for the aerospace sector. The German company has offices in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., and key partners and clients include L3Harris Technologies, Northrop Grumman, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the European Space Agency and the Space Development Agency.
