EDGE Group has signed a letter of intent with the Brazilian Navy to jointly develop advanced anti-drone systems, the Abu Dhabi-based company announced at LAAD Defence & Security 2025 in Rio de Janeiro.
The partnership, formalized through the Brazilian naval service’s Weapons Systems Directorate, will establish a joint working group of technical experts from both parties to develop counter-drone technologies for the Navy. The focus will be on autonomous surface and aerial systems incorporating advanced sensors, including radars, electro-optical technologies and signal jamming capabilities, with an aim to enhance Brazil’s naval defense against autonomous air and surface threats.
Also at LAAD 2025, EDGE and its subsidiary SIATT, a local smart weapons specialist, signed a license agreement with the Brazilian Navy for the MANSUP-ER anti-ship missile.
Additionally, EDGE signed a memorandum of understanding with Brazil’s state-owned EMGEPRON to facilitate technical exchanges for future weapons system development. The partnership will focus on missiles, torpedoes and high-precision military technologies.
