Virginia-based defense company V2X has received a $100 million contract to deliver support services for NATO’s missile defense site in Redzikowo, Poland. The award comes with a one-year base period, seven one-year options and an additional six-month extension.
The U.S. Navy’s Aegis Ashore complex in Poland supports NATO’s missile defense system, extending detecting, tracking and intercepting capabilities to address ballistic missiles in flight. It is positioned as a critical component of the European Phased Adaptive Approach, a strategy that combines the missile defense systems of forward-deployed U.S. Navy destroyers in Rota, Spain, and Aegis capabilities in Deveselu, Romania.
The Navy took over the Polish Aegis Ashore facility in December 2023, marking the start of the location’s overhaul that included network and computer systems upgrades. In July 2024, the alliance deemed the U.S. facility operational and ready to protect each member state.
At the time, then-NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg, now Norway’s incumbent finance minister, hailed the opening of Aegis Ashore Poland as a significant step in NATO’s efforts to ensure transatlantic security against missile attacks. “Ballistic missiles have been widely used in conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. As a defensive alliance, we cannot ignore that threat,” he said.
