Forward Slope Inc. has secured a $15 million contract from the U.S. Navy Naval Sea Systems Command to deliver a command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance system to enhance maritime domain awareness in support of the Egyptian Navy. FSI, a San Diego-based technology and services provider, outbid four other companies to win this cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-reimbursement, firm-fixed-price contract.
The Foreign Military Sale transaction will involve FSI operating in multiple locations, including Cairo and Alexandria in Egypt, as well as San Diego in California. If all options under the contract are exercised, its total value could reach $96.5 million.
Since its establishment in 2022, FSI has been committed to delivering a wide array of technology and support services, encompassing IT, systems engineering and program management. The collaboration with FSI underscores the Egyptian government’s growing focus on boosting its defense allocations amid regional instability.
In addition to enhancing maritime domain awareness, the Egyptian Navy is also partnering with French firm Safran to equip its offshore patrol vessels with VIGY 4 and Argonyx navigation systems, improving their ability to obtain essential and accurate navigation data.
