Montreal-based aircraft simulation solutions provider CAE has named four new members to its board of directors: Calin Rovinescu, Peter Lee, Katherine A. Lehman and Louis Tetu.
Rovinescu was nominated chair of the board, bringing years of experience as a corporate director, venture capital investor and senior adviser to several businesses. He succeeds Alan N. MacGibbon, who served as director for seven years before transitioning to board chair in 2022.
“With a dynamic and engaged board that is fully aligned on the process and transition to CAE’s next CEO, there is no better time for me to transition the chair role to Calin,” MacGibbon said. “I am confident Calin’s proven track record in value creation and exemplary leadership skills will allow the company to continue to be a leader in the sector and deliver value to its broad group of stakeholders.”
From 2009 to 2021, Rovinescu served as president and CEO of Air Canada, leading significant transformation initiatives within the airline, including expanding its network and posting record financial results. The executive also served as chair of the International Air Transport Association, co-founder and principal of independent investment bank Genuity Capital Market, and managing partner of Canadian law firm Stikeman Elliott. He currently sits as a board director at several other Canadian companies.
Peter Lee is a co-founder and partner of the investment firm Browning West. He previously held several investment-related positions at Criterion Capital Management, Grey Mountain Partners and Lazard. He is a director on the board of Gildan Activewear and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Kate Lehman, private equity investor and experienced board member, is the incumbent chair of the industrial company Stella Jones and partner at Palladium Equity Partners since 2022.
Meanwhile, Louis Tetu has been chair and CEO of technology firm Coveo Solutions since 2012. He co-founded Taleo in 1999 and was president of the supply chain management group Baan CSC.
