Roch Pelletier Joins Calian Group as Regional VP for Global Defense, Security

Roch Pelletier has joined Calian Group as the regional vice president for global defense and security. In this role, he will focus on expanding the company’s business in the United Kingdom, Europe and NATO while promoting its products, which include cybersecurity, advanced training and IT solutions. Calian established the new role in response to nations’ increasing defense spending and geopolitical instability around the world.

Pelletier transitioned into his new role after over 30 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. He most recently served as the commander of the Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre, retiring as a major general in 2024. In addition to leading the training organization, he was also the commander of the 5th Battalion and served as the deputy commander for operations at U.S. Army Alaska.

In recognition of his service, Pelletier received a Meritorious Service Medal in 2014 for his role as deputy commander of the Canadian Contribution to the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan.

Calian CEO Kevin Ford said that Pelletier’s military experience aligns with the company’s plans for expansion in the European and U.K. defense markets. “His record of leadership, deep understanding of defense and global security challenges will be instrumental in advancing our mission and delivering future-proof solutions,” Ford said.

In 2023, the Ottawa-based company expanded its IT and Cyber Solutions portfolio into global markets with its $52 million acquisition of Decisive Group, an IT infrastructure and cybersecurity services business. At the time, Ford said he expected the deal to strengthen the company’s managed services capability for its industry and government customers.
