SES is providing the Peruvian Air Force a high-throughput satellite solution through its SES-14 geostationary satellite. The Luxembourg-based satellite operator said the deal includes access to SES-14’s high-throughput and wide-beam capabilities, which will support PAF’s various operations, as well as hardware installation and training services.
The satellite’s advanced features are expected to provide seamless connectivity for remote operations, support real-time information exchange and ensure high-performance connection.
Gen. Marcos Francisco Robles Bocanegra, PAF director of telematics, highlighted the value of SES-14 in advancing connectivity and operational capabilities. “Real-time connectivity for the Air Force is a game-changer as it allows taking informed decisions in a timely way,” he said.
Operational since 2018, SES-4 is an all-electric satellite equipped with C band and Ku band wide beams that provide cable and broadband services. Airbus Defence and Space built it and serves neighborhoods and the maritime market in Latin America, the Caribbean, North America and West Africa.
According to Omar Trujillo, vice president of SES’ Enterprise Americas division, SES-14’s integrated solution is designed to meet PAF’s stringent operational requirements and will strengthen the force’s connectivity among its assets.
