Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer has expanded its presence in the European defense sector with a new office in Lisbon, Portugal.
Embraer Defense Europe, the new subsidiary, will cater to the unique requirements of the European Union and NATO, spearheading the company’s business transactions in the region through a team of defense industry experts specializing in engineering, program management and support.
“We are committed to deepening our relationships with European and NATO partners, offering the most advanced and efficient capabilities to meet each customer’s operational needs,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, president and CEO of Embraer Defense and Security.
The Brazilian multinational has seen increased deals with European nations in recent months, supplying them with solutions to achieve enhanced defense capabilities.
In November, the aircraft maker secured a contract from Sweden to deliver C-390 Millennium aircraft to improve the Scandinavian nation’s ability to transport soldiers and defense equipment. It also secured a deal that would make the Portuguese armed forces the first in the world to use the A-29N Super Tucano aircraft, an updated version of the trainer and light attack jet.
