Safran Announces Leadership Changes in Aircraft Engines, Electrical Divisions

French aerospace firm Safran has appointed Stéphane Cueille as CEO of its Aircraft Engines business. Cueille, who brings experience in aeronautics, space and defense, is expected to transition to his new role on Jan. 1, 2025, and fully assume responsibilities early next year.

He will replace outgoing chief executive Jean-Paul Alary, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Since 1998, Cueille has held various roles at Safran, including his current post as CEO of Safran Electrical & Power. When Safran was still Snecma, he worked as a repair general manager at the company’s Military Engine division before becoming director of advanced turbine blades research. He was appointed head of Safran’s Research & Technology Center in 2015 and as senior executive vice president of R&T and innovation in 2016.

Bruno Bellanger, currently general manager of the power division within Safran Electrical & Power, will succeed Cueille as CEO of Safran’s electrical business.

Bellanger joined Safran in 2004, assuming various responsibilities across several divisions, including overseeing the Aircraft Information Systems program and managing Safran Electronics & Defense and Safran Aircraft Engines. According to his LinkedIn profile, Bellanger is also Safran’s school ambassador for ISAE-SUPAERO.
