Israel has ordered 25 F-15 next-generation fighter jets from Boeing for $5.2 billion. The company and the Israeli Ministry of Defense signed an agreement Wednesday for the acquisition, which includes options for purchasing an additional 25 aircraft. Delivery of jets will begin in 2031.
In a statement, Ido Nehushtan, president of Boeing Israel, pointed out that Boeing’s relationship with the country goes back to Israel’s establishment. “The company will continue working with the U.S. and Israeli governments to deliver the advanced F-15IA aircraft through standard military procurement channels,” he said.
The ministry said the new F-15IA will be integrated with the latest of Israel’s technologies and upgraded in payload, range and performance.
Expanded Aircraft Fleet
According to Eyal Zamir, director general of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the oncoming F-15 squadron will enhance the air power and strategic reach of the Israel Defense Forces amid its ongoing war with Hamas.
He noted that since October 2023, the government has secured almost $40 billion worth of procurement agreements to equip the IDF. This includes the F-35 Lightning II aircraft deal valued at $3 billion with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028.
“We continue to advance similar transformative agreements across all IDF domains – from air and naval forces to ground operations, intelligence and beyond,” Zamir said.
