Brazilian aerospace solutions manufacturer Embraer will deliver two C-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft to the Czech Republic.
On Friday, the Czech Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the Embraer NATO-standard systems, part of an effort to modernize the capabilities of the nation’s air force.
Under the deal, the Brazilian multinational will also deliver comprehensive training and support services, ensuring the Millennium’s smooth integration into Prague’s fleet.
Czech Defense Minister Jana Cernochova highlighted how the Embraer aircraft will boost the Central European nation’s transportation capabilities.
“Past and present history clearly shows us that the military needs to be able to transport people and heavier cargo over longer distances,” she said. “I am therefore very pleased that we have managed to acquire aircraft for our Air Force that are capable of performing these tasks.”
The C-390 Millennium has been servicing the logistics requirements of several countries, including the Netherlands, Austria and South Korea.
