Maxar Appoints Former NATO Military Committee Chair as Senior Adviser

Maxar Intelligence has announced the appointment of Royal Air Force Air Chief Marshal Stuart Peach as a senior adviser, coinciding with the inauguration of its new international government business headquarters in the United Kingdom.

Peach, who formerly served as the chairman of the NATO Military Committee, U.K. chief of defense, joint operations head and defense intelligence chief, brings years of experience in the tasking and application of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

Commenting about Maxar’s new U.K.-based office, Peach said the new infrastructure will enable the international government business to boost strategic partnerships with allied nations and help the British government accelerate its space innovation efforts. The headquarters in West London will also support the company’s European enterprise business focused on the mapping, energy and telecommunications sectors.

Maxar is expanding its global footprint following the launch of four next-generation WorldView Legion satellites designed to collect very-high-resolution, 30-cm-class imagery. According to Maxar Intelligence CEO Dan Smoot, near-real-time VHR satellite imagery and geospatial insights bring strategic advantages for national security and other applications.

“We’re committed to helping U.S. allies and commercial customers build best-in-class geospatial intelligence capabilities through access to our secure, increasingly AI-powered products and unmatched mission expertise,” the CEO said.
