L3Harris has unveiled a new model for a support center dedicated to warfighters and first responders using the company’s communications systems in the Indo-Pacific region.
The new Indo-Pacific Regional Support Centre model, presented at the Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition, will start operating in 2025 to expedite field service repairs.
The facility will integrate the company’s communications support capabilities in Australia, where L3Harris recently opened a new Center of Excellence for Electronic Warfare designed to increase local manufacturing capabilities and create jobs focused on quantum sensing, robotics, secure communications and data management.
Chris Aebli, president of tactical communication systems at L3Harris, said the new model will support Australia’s economic connection to the region and ensure customers “have the critical defense and public safety communication capabilities they need to protect their national sovereignty and enable an integrated, focused force.”
In partnership with V2X and the U.S. Marine Corps in Darwin, L3Harris recently demonstrated the center’s ability to immediately respond to customer needs and repair and return communications equipment.
