Unmanned Transport Vehicle Receives Ukrainian Defense Ministry Approval for Military Use

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has approved the use of the BoarTAC unmanned multipurpose transport vehicle for military operations.

According to the defense ministry, BoarTAC’s design took into consideration the Ukrainian armed forces’ needs while on the battlefield. The multifunctional solution comes with wide tracks, large ground grippers and a protective bumper, enabling its use in challenging landscapes, including ditches, off-road terrains and shallow water obstacles. It is capable of carrying a capacity of about 200 kilograms, including a trailer tow of the same weight.

With the platform’s capabilities, BoarTAC could carry out a spectrum of missions, including transporting the body of a wounded service member and being a mobile weapon fitted with remotely operated combat grenade launchers, machine guns and a loitering munition.

The BoarTAC’s approval follows Ukraine’s recent authorization of more than 20 prototypes of specialized light vehicles that can pass through difficult terrain, improving Ukrainian soldiers’ capability to conduct operations in complex environments.
