Military vehicle manufacturer General Dynamics European Land Systems has named Debora Cappucci Burke as vice president and general counsel. Burke, who most recently held the same role at General Dynamics NASSCO, announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post.
According to her LinkedIn profile, the executive will lead a 12-person department with 10 attorneys, providing legal advice and counsel on international and commercial transactions, disputes, litigation, trade compliance, and corporate governance matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.
GDELS operates in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Romania, Denmark, the Czech Republic and Spain, where the company is headquartered.
At NASSCO, Burke was an associate general counsel from 2007 to 2014. She then served the role of vice president of human resources for five years before her latest assignment as VP and general counsel, which started in 2019.
Her years of legal experience include time spent as chief of the labor and employment division at the San Diego City Attorney and as an attorney at Paul, Plevin, Sullivan & Connaughton, Schwartz Hannum and Klinedinst.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations, an executive master’s degree in HR management from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver-Sturm College of Law.
