BlackBerry has named Tim Foote as chief financial officer, reporting directly to CEO John J. Giamatteo.
In a press release on Monday, the company announced that Foote and two other executives are joining the finance team.
Foote has been with the company since it acquired Good Technology in 2015. Before his new role, he held several leadership positions at the Ontario-based company, including manager of international finance operations, vice president of investor relations and CFO of the cybersecurity business.
Gianmatteo describes him as a strong and trusted leader to lead BlackBerry’s finance team. “Tim’s deep knowledge of BlackBerry’s business, strong relationship with the investment community and demonstrated leadership made him an ideal choice for the task ahead,” the chief executive said.
Jay Chai and Fraser Deziel will also join the new finance team. Chai will be the chief accounting officer after serving as vice president and corporate controller since 2019. Deziel will take over from Chai as corporate controller. He recently served as BlackBerry’s senior director of financial reporting and treasury.
