Elbit Systems has named Ziv Avni as vice president and head of tactical unmanned aerial systems and loitering munitions.
Avni, who announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, has served the company for over a decade in various lead positions.
He most recently held the role of vice president for business development and marketing at Elbit Systems Aerospace, during which the company introduced the Fire Shield multilayered detection and alert solution designed to support aerial firefighting and the Hermes 650 Spark tactical UAS.
He also led the company’s international UAS business line and UAS business unit for the United States, the European Union and Australia.
Before joining Elbit Systems, Avni was the director of marketing and sales at AtlasCT, a mapping and navigation solutions provider for mobile and web platforms.
His industry experience also included time as vice president of marketing and business development and chief operating officer at Themis UAV Applications.
