Raytheon UK has selected James Gray to succeed Jeff Lewis as chief executive and managing director.
The appointment will take effect on June 1, when Lewis retires after over five years in the company, including a year as chief operating officer.
Gray has been the managing director of Raytheon UK’s cyber, space and training business since 2018.
He joined the company in 2009 as a project manager and later held various leadership positions, including as associate director for cyber programs delivery, according to his LinkedIn profile.
In a statement on the announcement, the incoming chief executive said he has seen the critical role that Raytheon plays in securing the United Kingdom, citing its aerospace and defense capabilities.
“From our manufacturing sites in Scotland and space hubs in the northeast to the provision of software services and development in Manchester and Gloucester and our aerospace engineering capabilities in north Wales, I’m proud to be leading a business that is providing security and securing high-skilled jobs across the U.K.,” Gray said.
