QinetiQ has named Martin Cooper as the new group chief financial officer, replacing Carol Borg, who stepped down on Tuesday.
Cooper, who has nearly three decades of finance leadership experience, will also join the company’s board by October.
He assumed the group CFO role after holding various positions at BAE Systems, including as U.K. and rest of world financial controller, divisional finance director, and investor relations director.
Borg will remain with the company until the end of July to support interim arrangements.
Meanwhile, QinetiQ also appointed Iain Stevenson as chief operating officer and promoted Will Blamey to chief executive for U.K. defense.
As COO, Stevenson will ensure consistent operational performance at QinetiQ to support its growth objectives. He will join the company in July from British nuclear science and technology company AWE, where he currently serves as deputy chief executive.
Blamey was promoted in recognition of his contributions to the development and delivery of major programs at QinetiQ. He most recently served as the company’s managing director for maritime and land.
Steve Wadey, group CEO at QinetiQ, said the new appointments strengthen the company’s leadership team and enhance its capability to implement long-term growth strategies.
