Dataminr is providing its First Alert artificial intelligence platform to NATO.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with NATO and to support their critical global mission,” said Ted Bailey, founder and CEO of the New York-based technology company.
First Alert is Dataminr’s product for the public sector. It collects and analyzes publicly available information worldwide to deliver near-real-time alerts of critical events on pre-defined topics of interest or user-defined geographical areas.
According to Dataminr, the platform aids in speedy disaster and emergency response.
“In an increasingly volatile and unpredictable world, Dataminr’’s First Alert product has proven to be extremely effective for defense organizations seeking to protect their forces and keep their troops out of harm’s way,” Bailey added.
The partnership comes amid increasing tensions between NATO and Russia.
Kaupo Rosin, director-general of the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service, told reporters during his recent visit to Washington that Russia is growing its military to prepare for a future conflict with NATO.
In February, Russia’s Foreign Ministry also warned that Moscow will monitor Sweden’s actions as a new member of NATO and take the necessary military and technical steps to protect national security.
