Lockheed Martin has moved closer to its goal of in-country manufacturing in Poland for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missile system, with several milestones under the Polish PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement program completed in 2023, a company executive said.
Anna Ortylewski, Lockheed’s Polish PAC-3 MSE program head, added that the year’s program gains also support PAC-3’s advance worldwide. Ortylewski stressed that the company has a long-term commitment to Poland’s national defense and is consistently building the technical capabilities of the country’s defense industrial base.
Lockheed is undertaking the MSE program for Poland’s Wisla medium-range air defense system under an offset agreement finalized in August. The agreement created eight projects wherein Lockheed reported completions of several milestones in 2023 that will advance Wisla to its Phase II.
One gain was Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne’s completion of the enhanced launcher electronic system and junction box for the PAC-3 MSE’s launcher and ground equipment, the company said.
