The Israeli Ministry of Defense has chosen Oshkosh Defense to provide the Israeli Defense Forces with Joint Light Tactical Vehicles.
Oshkosh Defense President Tim Bleck said the award will support the IDF with a fleet of protected and mobile JLTVs.
Under the agreement, the ministry purchased 75 Oskosh JLTVs through Foreign Military Sales and dozens more of the military vehicles via Direct Commercial Sale transactions.
The company noted that it is the sole entity authorized to process JLTV procurements through DCS.
While Oshkosh Defense provided no value details on the Israeli orders, Shephard Media estimated that the deals could be over $21 million in total. The publication based its calculation on the JLTV’s price tag of $277,000 per unit in 2022.
Prior to the contract awards from Israel, Oshkosh Defense booked a $208 million order from the U.S. Army in November to supply JLTVs, JLTV trailers and associated kits.
Additionally, the Army awarded the company another $160 million order to ship the tactical vehicles to United States partners, including Mongolia, Romania, North Macedonia, Slovenia and Slovakia.
