Accenture has signed a new contract for a digital transformation program modernizing the Finnish Defence Forces’ enterprise resource planning system. In 2009, Finnish Defence tapped Accenture to convert its ERP system into a defense industry solution with new features that extend its functionality.
According to the company, the new program’s goals include improving user experience, enhancing system performance, and developing advanced analytics and reporting capabilities.
The modernization will deploy a new ERP system on SAP S/4HANA Defense & Security, the functions of which address tasks and processes such as organizational flexibility and materials management.
As the lead of a group of program subcontractors, including the Islet Group and Neomore Consulting, Accenture will also handle application maintenance and process development. The target schedule for the new ERP system’s deployment and Finnish defense personnel training is late 2025.
“The new enterprise resource planning digital core will ensure they can store, manage and exploit data in near real time, as well as facilitate collaboration and interoperability across all domains. By leveraging our digital capabilities, we are transforming core processes to help the Finnish Defence Forces become a future ready military enterprise,” Tomas Nystrom, Accenture’s Nordic technology director, said in a statement.
