The United States has signed a memorandum of understanding with Israel, India and the United Arab Emirates to form the I2U2 Private Enterprise Partnership.

According to the MOU, the public-private partnership was established to promote and advance the mission of the I2U2 Group, which refers to India, Israel, the U.S. and the UAE. The group, whose leaders held their first meeting in 2022, was formed to harness the private sector’s capital and expertise to solve challenges in seven key sectors: water, energy, space, health, food security, transportation and technology.

Jose Fernandez, undersecretary of state for economic growth, energy and environment, signed the MOU during the week of high-level  U.N. General Assembly meetings in New York City.

Indian Ministry of External Affairs Secretary Dammu Ravi, Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General Ronen Levi and UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh were the other representatives at the ceremony.

Along with the MOU, the Department of State also launched a new website dedicated to the I2U2 project proposals on State.gov.
