Space Systems Command will discuss supply chain challenges and opportunities with its international industry partners during a “reverse industry day” event on Oct. 25 and 26, SSC spokesperson Edgard Nava told C4ISRNET.
The consultation’s focus will be on developing an allied approach for a resilient global supply chain for space, with attendees including representatives from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and Japan.
The participants’ global supply chain perspectives will be examined by four moderated panels, with the final session discussing pathways toward crafting an Allied Space Supply Chain Strategy.
Through the two-day discussions, SSC, as the primary acquisition unit of the U.S. Space Force, hopes to first gather feedback before developing procurement plans rather than after setting a requirement.
The forum is one of two events taking place at the inaugural International Security Space Week, to be held in Chantilly, Virginia. The Aerospace Corp., Airbus and L3Harris are sponsors.
According to the C4ISRNET report, the command has been holding reverse industry sessions with space firms and other partners since early last year.
