SAP National Security Services has achieved International Traffic in Arms Regulation compliance for its end-to-end procurement solution SAP Ariba, enabling the company to deploy the product on Google Cloud Assured Workloads.
The Google Cloud platform is designed for running more secure and compliant software on the cloud environment, including ITAR workloads. Integrating SAP Ariba with Assured Workloads will support customers managing procurement activities for defense contractors. Many government and defense agencies are already using the SAP offering to facilitate their procurement processes.
Lillian Chang, senior vice president of product strategy at SAP NS2, said combining SAP Ariba with Google Cloud serves as a foundation for the continuous expansion of the SAP NS2 secure cloud portfolio for public sector customers. “Google Cloud allows us to achieve high execution velocity for compliance, and as a result SAP customers will soon be able to deploy SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition on Google Cloud with ITAR compliance,” she added.
ITAR rules, implemented by the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, establish restrictions and controls on software and technical data handling and the manufacture, sale and export of defense and space-related articles and services included in the United States Munitions List.
