Saab, ST Engineering Embark on Air Defense, Unmanned Systems, Autonomy Development

Swedish aerospace and defense company Saab and ST Engineering of Singapore have signed a memorandum of understanding at DSEI 2023 to co-develop advanced technology solutions.

In forging the agreement, the two companies, expanding on their longstanding partnership, will explore emerging opportunities in unmanned systems, air defense systems and radar integration and support, autonomy, and training and simulation.

The two organizations have been cooperating on various projects in Singapore for the past 30 years, with joint work encompassing naval, underwater, radar and missile programs.

According to Dean Rosenfield, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Saab, the company’s MOU with ST Engineering continues the mission of developing and delivering advanced technological solutions to customers worldwide.

Chua Jin Kiat, executive vice president and head of international defense business at ST Engineering, said the collaborative efforts will allow the organizations to tap new global opportunities using their home market strengths and positions.

The DSEI 2023 defense and security trade show concludes its weeklong run on Friday.
