A Taiwanese law enforcement agency has selected Gorilla Technology Group to provide telecommunications and network solutions for a 5G communications surveillance system project.
Gorilla Technology, a London-based provider of artificial intelligence-based edge video analytics, internet of things technologies and cybersecurity, said the undisclosed agency awarded a $20.8 million contract in June to support the security project until the period of performance ends in 2025.
Deploying 5G smart law enforcement solutions is expected to improve the investigation of criminal cases. Felix Song, Gorilla Technology’s vice president of customer success, said front-line investigators can also use the 5G communications surveillance system to protect the public from criminals using IP communications on 5G infrastructure, including voice over new radio and internet telephony.
According to Song, the new work with the agency builds on a previous partnership through which Gorilla Technology provided solutions enabling the government organization to switch from the 2G network to 4G.
