Luis German, formerly of automotive electronics supplier Visteon, has joined Amentum as chief information officer, tasked to help drive the company’s business transformation and growth strategy.
German, who has an extensive experience in technology transformation, oversaw IT functions as the CIO at Visteon, spearheading innovations and novel approaches to boost efficiency and productivity and managing chip shortages to give the company a competitive edge, Amentum said.
Previously, German spent nearly two decades at Tenaris, holding the position of chief process and information officer. During his tenure, he played a key role in managing strategic mergers and acquisitions, as well as successfully launching the company’s IPO.
Earlier in his career, he held significant roles at Ternium, including head of strategic planning and head of new business development for the automotive sector.
German holds a physics degree from the University of Buenos Aires, along with an M.S. and a Ph.D. in material science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Amentum CEO John Heller welcomed German to the executive team, saying that his expertise in digital advancement will help the company deliver innovative offerings to customers and partners.
