Science Applications International Corp. has made public the appointment of Toni Townes-Whitley as its CEO, effective Oct. 2. The 35-year global technology veteran will also join the SAIC board of directors upon assuming the role. She will succeed Nazzic Keene, who will step down from her position as CEO and from the SAIC board on Oct. 2. To ensure a smooth transition, Townes-Whitley will join SAIC on June 12 as CEO-elect while Keene continues as CEO through Oct. 1. Keene will then serve as a special executive adviser to Townes-Whitley and to SAIC until Feb. 2, 2024. Townes-Whitley was previously president of U.S. regulated industries at Microsoft, leading the company’s U.S. sales strategy for digital transformation in the public sector and regulated commercial industries. She managed a 5,200-person organization and approximately $16 billion of annual revenue. Townes-Whitley also held leadership positions at CGI Federal and Unisys.
