The Internal Revenue Service has awarded modernization and technical services provider Maximus a new blanket purchase agreement for the enterprise development, operations services contract. The multiple-award BPA by the IRS, which has a seven-year period of performance, enables Maximus to compete for task orders up to a total value of $2.6 billion. Maximus, a development, modernization, and enhancement services contractor, will support the modernization and transformation of the IRS’s technology infrastructure through subsequent task orders. The effort aims to consolidate over 400 IRS systems and reduce operations and maintenance costs. Maximus Federal General Manager Teresa Weipert expressed confidence in the ability of the company to deliver on the IRS’s plan to enhance the taxpayer experience and internal operations through their IRS team’s expertise in modernization. Bruce Caswell, president and CEO of Maximus, emphasized their commitment to providing modernization capabilities to the IRS and supporting its mission of improving taxpayer experience, according to a Maximus press release.
