Rapid Imaging Technologies, with a 25-year history of developing software and imaging solutions for the military, is now part of Chesapeake Technology International, a portfolio company of Bluestone Investment Partners. 

CTI announced the acquisition, which is expected to enhance the California, Maryland-headquartered company’s video analytics and situational awareness offerings and expand its footprint in the defense and intelligence communities. 

CTI said that with the addition of Rapid Imaging’s capabilities to CTI’s portfolio, customers will enjoy an array of imaging and geospatial augmented reality capabilities, including advanced algorithms for object detection, classification and tracking.

The acquisition will also allow CTI to acquire new customers and enhance its relationships with existing ones, the company added. 

Rapid Imaging’s technology provides customers real-time geospatial situational awareness information on live video, CTI said.
