Andrew Ivers is set to take over as CEO of Communications & Power Industries and its parent company, CPI International, on May 31, replacing Bob Fickett.
Ivers serves as president and chief operating officer of CPI and has been with the company since 2019. He is an experienced defense and communications electronics executive and has held executive roles in L3 Technologies, Harris Corp. and Raytheon Co.
Fickett, who has been the CEO of CPI since 2017, will become executive chairman of CPI’s board of directors and a strategic adviser to the company. During his tenure as CEO, the company grew significantly and expanded its product offerings through several acquisitions.
Commenting on his promotion, Ivers said he looks forward to continuing to work with Fickett in their new positions. “We have dedicated employees and passionate customers, and I am excited to see to the innovative technology solutions that we will develop together,” Ivers added.
In a statement, Fickett expressed his confidence in Ivers, saying the incoming CEO “knows the industry and the company inside and out” and that he will lead CPI to many future successes.
Ivers earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and mathematics from the University of California, Irvine.
