Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Nick Michaelides, vice president of Cisco‘s U.S. federal sales organization, as an inductee into the 2017 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena.
Michaelides leads Cisco’s business operations that support the U.S. federal government including clients in the Defense Department, civilian agencies and the Intelligence Community.
He wrote in a December 2016 article for Federal Times that the development of a digital-ready network will require an evaluation of current environments, a vision for what should be done and the creation of a multi-phased strategy for implementation across the government.
The shift to modern network infrastructure will be the foundation of the government’s transformation into an enterprise that can take advantage of digital opportunities, he said in the piece.
“It is a strategic process of identifying the gaps in network capabilities and prioritizing needs to be address first. This is why flexible network management is important — so organizations can address immediate security challenges and simultaneously lay the groundwork for future capabilities,” Michaelides wrote.
Cisco holds a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program accreditation for its WebEx web and video conferencing tool which generated collaboration opportunities with federal agencies.
Michaelides has held various leadership roles with Cisco since he joined the company in August 2008 that include stints as senior director of the federal defense operation and senior director of the intelligence community organization.
Prior to Cisco, he served as regional executive of Sun Microsystems‘ advanced programs region and prior to that held a system engineering position at NBI.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Nick Michaelides and the Cisco team for their selection to receive this award.
