Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Teresa Carlson, vice president of Amazon Web Services‘ worldwide public sector business, as an inductee into the 2017 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena.

Carlson has responsibility for the Amazon.com subsidiary’s strategy, operations, sales and business development efforts with government customers.

She has more than 20 years of experience in the field of information technology, including her work at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) as VP of the federal government business before joining AWS in December 2010.

Carlson has worked to drive the cloud computing company’s entry into the public sector market as government agencies move to collaborate with industry and adopt technologies such as cloud.

AWS has also teamed with other companies such as CSRA (NYSE: CSRA) to facilitate business opportunities with government customers through the AWS Government Competency, AWS GovCloud (US) Skill and other partner network programs.

A recent event in the work between Carlson’s team and the U.S. government was the provisional authorization the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program‘s joint authorization board awarded for three AWS GovCloud offerings.

That High Baseline JAB P-ATO covers the Amazon Relational Database Service for MySQL, Oracle and PostgresSQL; Amazon CloudWatch Logs; and AWS CloudTrail.

“We are constantly listening to our customers and work to deliver more services to help accelerate their missions in the regions where they do business, and it is no different in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region,” said Carlson, who also currently serves on the board of directors of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the public sector board of TechAmerica.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Teresa Carlson and the AWS team for their selection to receive this award.
