George Newstrom

Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce George Newstrom, president of Dell‘s federal government services business, as an inductee into the 2016 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.

Prior to Dell, Newstrom held the position of president and chief operating officer for Lee Technologies.

He is also a former secretary of technology and chief information officer for the state of Virginia and held leadership roles at the company formerly known as EDS during his 28 years there.

He reinforced the concept of collaboration, this time between the public and private sectors, in an interview with ExecutiveBiz in 2014.

“We need to understand clearly what our government clients want to accomplish with IT… This will help drive the right IT solution to meet the government’s need,” he said.

In a 2013 blog post, Newstrom lauded technologies such as cloud computing and mobile devices as “disruptive trends” that spur innovation efforts in federal agencies tasked to build up their information technology infrastructures amid lower budgets.

Executive Mosaic congratulates George Newstrom and the Dell team for their selection to receive this award.
