Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce Ellen Lord, president and CEO of Textron‘s systems segment, as the newest inductee into the 2016 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.
Lord is also a member of the company’s executive leadership team and has held her current roles since October 2012.
Revenue in the systems segment represented approximately 11.3 percent of Textron’s overall sales for 2015.
In an interview with Defense News in October 2015, Lord noted that Textron Systems continues to explore innovative approaches to existing technology and the delivery of a total package of equipment and support services to address ongoing defense needs amid the current budget uncertainty.
“[That] innovative look at a total solution is what we’re interested in the future… we’re not only looking at new designs and new capabilities given the constrained environment we have domestically and internationally today,” she said.
She has served as senior vice president for Textron Systems’ defense segment and SVP of AAI Corp.
As VP of integration management at Textron in 2007, she helped integrate the newly acquired firm AAI into the company’s business structure and operations.
She has worked across the Textron family of businesses since 2004.
Lord is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and sits on the strategy, technology and global defense industry task force of the Center for a New American Security and the board of directors of the Defense Technology Initiative and National Defense Industrial Association.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Ellen Lord and the Textron Systems team for their selection to receive this award.
