Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce John Vollmer, an executive vice president and chief operating officer at AECOM, as the newest inductee into the Wash100 — a group of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.

Vollmer serves as EVP and COO of the company’s management services business, which provides infrastructure and facility management, logistics, cyber, information technology, engineering and technical services to both federal and commercial customers.

He manages the business unit’s operating activities as well as business strategy, technology development, process improvement, performance management and credentialing programs.

He joined AECOM in 2014 after that company’s $4 billion acquisition of URS, where he served as EVP of operations for the federal services business.

“By leveraging the strengths of both URS and AECOM, the new AECOM is perfectly positioned to design, build, finance and operate infrastructure assets for our clients around the world,” Vollmer said.

He has nearly 40 years of experience in IT, command-and-control and communications services for both civilian federal government and military agencies.

“Change will continue at a rapid pace in the federal marketplace; success depends on the agility of our organizations to adapt to this change, the ability to provide innovative and comprehensive solutions to our clients, and above all excellence in our execution,” he said.

Vollmer has also worked on C4 systems at ITT and EDO, financial management at Darlington and U.S. Navy programs at EG&G.

Executive Mosaic congratulates John Vollmer and the AECOM team for their selection to receive this award.
