Executive Mosaic is glad to introduce Bill Birkhofer, a senior vice president at Jacobs Engineering Group, as the newest inductee into the Wash100 — a group of influential leaders in the government contracting industry.
The four-decade engineering and construction veteran oversees Jacobs’ work in areas such as buildings, infrastructure, defense, aerospace and telecommunications.
Those areas represent close to one-third of the company’s annual business volume and are primarily based in the U.S. and U.K., the company said.
Birkhofer offered Executive Mosaic an outlook on the government services market in 2015 and pointed to sequestration and delayed procurements as factors that could loom over the sector but also identified areas GovCon companies can pursue for growth.
“We expect that 2015 will bring plentiful opportunities in mission critical facilities, health and research, science and technology, and the defense and intelligence community spaces,” Birkhofer told Executive Mosaic.
Jacobs made one move to grow its intelligence community footprint in 2014 through its acquisition of Federal Network Systems from Verizon.
“While the timing and nature of these M&A activities are difficult to predict, we are constantly assessing opportunities in all elements of our business, including our national government business.”
Executive Mosaic congratulates Bill Birkhofer and the Jacobs team for their selection to receive this award.
