Rick-AmbroseExecutive Mosaic is honored to announce Rick Ambrose, president of Lockheed Martin‘s space systems company, as the newest member of the Wash100 — a group of influential leaders in the government contracting industry.

Ambrose leads a business that is the prime contractor for NASA‘s Orion space capsule program — an initiative that aims to give the space agency a new means to send astronauts into space by 2021.

NASA and Lockheed sent Orion into space for its first test launch in December 2014 with the help of several other aerospace technology contractors.

“They’ll analyze the data here for weeks, looking for any changes they can make to the capsule going forward to make it a very safe environment,” Ambrose said to the Denver Post then.

The three-decade aerospace and defense veteran joined Lockheed in July 2000 and has since held other senior roles within the space systems company and the information systems and global solutions business.

Prior to Lockheed, Ambrose served as a vice president of space systems for a business segment at Raytheon.

Executive Mosaic extends its congratulations to Rick Ambrose and Lockheed’s space systems team for their selection to receive the award.
