Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Sid Ashworth, corporate vice president of government relations for Northrop Grumman, as the newest inductee into the Wash 100, the premier group of leaders who create value for the American public and execute strategic vision at the intersection of the public and private sectors.
Ashworth helps guide, coordinate and support all of Northrop’s U.S. government relationships and has responsibility for the contractor’s international operations.
The former principal of the Ashworth Group joined Northrop from the vice president of Washington Operations role at GE Aviation and is also a member of Northrop’s corporate policy council.
In her roles, Ashworth is involved across Northrop’s operations and is adept at leading and working alongside Northrop decision makers and public sector officials with specializations and backgrounds ranging from Capitol Hill and Congressional bodies such as the Senate Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, to strategic business development, domestic and international space and defense policy, military intelligence, and senior leadership in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
A former civilian in the U.S. Department of the Army, Ashworth brings extensive public sector experience and responsibilities to her role, including a stint as staff director of the Defense Subcommittee where she helped formulate funding and legislation recommendations for more than $600 billion in annual defense and intelligence spending.
Ashworth also served as staff director of the Military Construction Subcommittee and was recognized with the 2009 National Guard Major General G.V. “Sonny Montgomery” Award.
