Bill Varner, ManTech - ExecutiveBizExecutive Mosaic is honored to announce Bill Varner, president and chief operating officer of ManTech International‘s mission, cyber and intelligence solutions (MCIS) group, as the newest inductee into the Wash100, the premier group of leaders who drive innovation and growth at the intersection of the public and private sectors.

Varner first assumed his leadership role in MCIS in 2009 and has helped grow the group, which focuses on winning work with defense, intelligence and civil government agencies, as well as the private sector, into a broadly diversified portfolio of services and products..

“We are in an interesting environment where I believe we will see a lot of cooperation between the DOJ (FBI), the DHS, and the DoD(NSA) in protecting our critical infrastructure. ManTech is in a great position to support each of those agencies.”

The Intelligence and National Security Alliance board member previously provided technical and engineering support to the intelligence community as an executive with Northrop Grumman – TASC, prior TASC’s spin off into a standalone company.

He served as vice president of the signal and information processing group at TASC before leading a team of 1,100 as VP of the combined company’s intelligence operations. big-data2He first joined TASC in 1978.

His undergraduate alma mater George Washington University inducted Varner into its engineering hall of fame in 2011 and he also serves on the National Defense Industrial Association‘s science and engineering board in addition to holding a position on University of Maryland University College Cyber Think Tank, George Washington University’s National Advisory Council, and the Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation boards.
