christine FoxExecutive Mosaic is honored to unveil Christine Fox, acting deputy defense secretary, as the newest inductee into the Wash100, the premier group of leaders who drive innovation and growth in the public and private sectors.

Fox was appointed to her current role on an acting basis after Ash Carter left the Pentagon at the end of 2013.

She previously served as technical director at Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory where she was responsible for advising and counseling stakeholders.

Prior to JHU APL, Fox worked with Ash Carter on the Pentagon’s Strategic Choices and Management Review.

“As a key leader of the Strategic Choices and Management Review, she helped identify the challenges, choices, and opportunities for reform facing the department during this period of unprecedented budget uncertainty,” said Chuck Hagel, secretary of defense.

She had been working on the DOD’s Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation while at JHU APL.

She served as the president of the Center for Naval Analyses and vice president and director of the operations evaluation group for the federally funded research and development center earlier in her career.

As part of her work at CNA, Fox oversaw operations in Bosnia and Kosovo and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Executive Mosaic extends its congratulations to Christine Fox and the rest of the DoD.
