Speakers at the Oct. 6-9 conference included Frank Calderoni, chief financial officer at Cisco Systems, who discussed transformation as a “critical initiative” for finance organizations post-recession, GCE said in a blog post Thursday.
Jonathan Chadwick, CFO of VMware, also noted the changing role of CFOs and how organizations are benefitting from being versatile and adaptable.
The presenters also highlighted the need for enterprises to carefully choose which technologies to adopt to modernize their financial reporting and data analytics.
In a roundtable held on the sidelines of the event, GCE CFO Matthew France and Chief Strategy Officer David Lucas shed light on the relevance of financial reporting tools and centralizing data in making budget decisions.
“Data has no value if it takes too long to obtain, dissect for meaning or distribute for people to use,” France said.
“To succeed, today’s CFOs need to centralize information so it can be quickly understood and disseminated to the right people,” he concluded.
